We've got a LOT of involvement for the No Sugar November. I'd like to take just a second to go over the goals:
1. For some people it's a vice, not just sugar. That's fine.
2. "Sugar" in our context, is sweetener additive included in a dessert, drink, or candy that is not required for a recipe.
3. This is a reason to turn those food packages over and start reading what exactly you are putting in your body. Do you often read the ingredients list of your food? You'll learn a lot about what's going on with your health if you do.
4. Competitors (not just people on the team, but my vets trying to make it to regionals) NEED to be fasting from sugar, then beer, then alcohol. As we get closer to competition time, the harder we work. This means fueling our bodies better, and maximizing rest time. If we're eating crap and drinking, our energy is down, and our muscles don't repair as efficiently, which means we start seeing injuries.
Get a buddy. Hold each other accountable. Try it for a month, and tell me you don't feel better. Join up on Facebook! See who else is doing it!
